| Heel Lift | A Heel Lift is an elevation added under the heel of an Orthotic. Its purpose is to lift the heel up to balance the body. Most commonly used when one leg is shorter then the other. Both heels are raised some cases to reduce the strain on leg muscles or to change the alignment of the lower back. Neutral Posts are added to Orthotics to increase stabilization and support. Neutral Posts have no wedges or elevations added to it. They just give the Orthotic a flat base in the heel, which adds a firmer and more stable base. | Met Pads | Used to reduce pressure to the ball of foot. This small pad is place right behind the metatarsal heads. It directly loads weight behind the heads to off load stress that might cause forefoot pain. It can also be used to align the metatarsal bones to relieve painful nerve pinching known as a Neuroma. |
| Notes | Here you can give additional information on your individual case. Type in any important details your might have that will aid us in making your Orthotic. Notes such as body weight, activities, pains, and what shoes they are going into are very helpful. |
| Plastic Thickness | Use this to select the desired thickness of the shell. Thicker plastic delivers firmer support. Use the down load sheet to the left for more details. |
| Shoe Questions | We ask three questions about the Gender, Size, and Width of shoe you wear. We need this information to make sure the Orthotic ordered fits your shoes. Gender lets us know if you’re wearing a women’s size or a men’s size. For example, not all women wear women shoes. Some women with wide feet wear men’s shoes |
| Top Cover | Select the top cover for your Orthotics that best meets your needs. You can download pictures and examples from the left. 3/4 means the material selected will end where the plastic ends. Full means the top cover will extend full length to your selected shoe size. Many people buy more than one pair with different top covers to fit their various shoes. |
| Wedges | Wedges are adjustments made to the heel of your Orthotics. By changing the angle of a heel it is possible to improve a person’s stride. By putting a wedge on the inside we can slow down or stop a foot from rolling inward, commonly known as Pronation. The same thing can be done for rolling outward known as Supination. The taller the wedge the more aggressive it will be. There is a download to the left to give more examples and illustration on this subject. |
